ForArt’sSake
...is a non-profit 501(c)(3) community art association dedicated to encouraging imaginative and creative thinking in children and adults, while involving people in the process and appreciation of the visual, literary and performing arts. The For Art’s Sake Community Association offers opportunities to bring together members of the community through exhibitions, workshops, readings, performances, and a directory connecting artists with residents to explore artistic expression.
For Art's Sake also supports and celebrates art in Harvard’s schools. How? By…
- Creating expanded opportunities to enrich the curriculum with visiting guest artists and field trips
- Providing greater visibility to student artwork throughout the year through displays, exhibitions and the website.
- Supporting the art teachers with volunteers who can assist with special projects or collect recyclables needed for classroom
- Supporting the art teachers in both HES and Bromfield schools with funds from directed donations toward teacher wish list items and membership dues to help pay for unusual materials not covered by school budgets such as glazes for pottery, specialized printing inks and paints, and display materials
- Sponsoring and encouraging fun art-making events to provide children and adults with additional opportunities to explore their own creativity
- Celebrating and creating awareness and advocacy for the important contribution the arts play in our children's lives and in the community we live in by creating inspiring events, exhibitions and dialog among artists and patrons
